Number one: Employ the proper breathing technique. The voice is best described as a wind instrument, because breathing is eighty percent of singing, and proper singing begins and ends with proper breathing. When inhaling, breathe from the belly up, letting the air expand your lower abdomen before your lungs. When exhaling, let the air come out on its own rather than forcing it out.
Number two: Correct your posture. Your breath travels from your lungs straight up through your mouth.
