Urban Green Partnership produced Philly Green Fest again this year on September 9th, and this time expanded from a one block street fair promoting improved recycling in Philadelphia last year to a four block festival raising awareness for various environmental issues this year. We were again asked to coordinate and promote the live music stage, and we were psyched to be involved.
We booked seven live bands for music entertainment at Green Fest, ranging in genres from indie rock to soul and funk to rock and roll. In addition, we provided field and digital marketing support to make sure the right audience knew about the live music at the festival to help bring up the total attendance numbers. The day went off without a hitch, and UGP was thrilled to have us on board again this time around. Plans are in the works for 2008 - it’s sure to be another great festival!
For the second annual Flava Fest this year, we decided to step up all aspects of the production - from the programming to the promotion everything was better than ‘06. Last year’s park jam was trumped this time around with three days of events celebrating the positive elements of hip-hop culture, including a poetry slam, dance battles, a free outdoor event, an all-star concert headlined by nationally touring acts Pharoahe Monch and Juggaknots, and an after party for everyone to cut loose after a full weekend.
In collaboration with Goodie Goodie Productions, we fully planned and managed all aspects of the events for Flava Fest, and designed a thorough field and digital marketing campaign, as well as a public relations outreach, across urban markets in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington DC. When all was said and done, over 5,000 people came out to the events and all of our sponsors were very pleased with the value they gained from their investment in Flava Fest 2007. We’re now planning for 2008, and the programming will have a focus on entrepreneurship and youth leadership, including educational and hands-on workshops, panel discussions, lectures, and film screenings in addition to the regularly scheduled program. Stay tuned…
This was the proposed mock-up.
