Campus Philly Interactive Map

Even though the application looks and is fairly simple, it is highly functional. The Campus Philly Kick-off event takes place over four blocks of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia with attendance of over 15,000. The problem? There wasn’t a single place where users could get a good idea of the daily activities. So we produced a good-looking flash application that highlighted the main activities.

Campus Philly Fall Guide Promotion

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

campus_philly.jpg

Every year Campus Philly releases its annual Fall Guide, a comprehensive booklet that lists information on museums, night live spots, retail stores, and all kinds of other useful tid-bits of knowledge about Philly for new college students coming to the city.

Distributing 80,000 of these guides is quite a task, though, so Campus Philly asked us to help lighten the load. We graciously accepted the job, and got our field marketing team on the streets right away, dispersing the guides to retail shops, art galleries, on college campuses, and other highly trafficked areas around Philadelphia. Thousands of new Philadelphians now have a concise guide book to navigate the city, and we’re pleased to have contributed to the effort.

Atelier SugarCRM Unqiue Inventory Module

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

inventory_screenshot.jpg

We built an entirely custom module that allowed Atelier to keep track of all their incoming and outgoing inventory. They specialize in storing extremely delicate and valuable art and antique items so most of the generic solutions out there just wasn’t going to cut it out. The other issue was that most solutions for their industry were local applications. We showed them SugarCRM and let them test drive it for about a month before starting to plan to build a module to integrate with the all mighty SugarCRM.

Main Features
  • Assignation of inventory items to accounts
  • Bar-code generation for inventory items
  • Detailed specifications and pictures upload for inventory items
  • Advanced searching capabilities for the entire database
  • Displaying items in the account dashlets
  • Logging when an items leaves and arrives in the warehouse
  •

Once the items are entered and assigned to an account, the barcodes are printed and placed on the individual pieces. Atelier can then use a barcode scanner to retrieve the item information for SugarCRM.

    Scion Installation Promotion

Scion coordinates an annual art tour, Scion Installation, touring cities across the country. So for the Philadelphia exhibition scheduled through March of ‘06, they reached out to us to handle the promotion to make sure the right people came out for the opening reception.

We conducted a thorough field marketing promotion for the event, distributing print materials to retailers and hot spots around the city. The opening reception was amazing, drawing an eclectic mix of artsy hipsters and hip-hop aficionados. Everyone left smiling, including the Scion reps that were there. We’re slated to work with Scion on the next Philly Installation exhibition in the spring of 2008.

    World Cafe Live Field Marketing

    Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

    worldcafe.jpg

In November of 2006, World Cafe Live (WLC) was in need of a dedicated street team to promote its 14+ shows each week. Prior to hiring us for the job, a single person was responsible for distributing at times over 1,000 flyers and 100 posters to retailers all over Philly.

We first expanded the coverage areas to include more distribution locations in Center City, Old City, South Philly, West Philly, North Philly, and Northern Liberties. On a weekly basis we had a trained, enthusiastic field promotion team distributing flyers and putting up posters in cafes, clothing stores, music shops, around local college and university campuses, and in other key retailers on our house list.

Since then we have been managing WCL’s field promotions and regularly having promoters do hand-to-hand flyer promotion at events and high foot-traffic locations. Attendance at concerts and events there has been consistently strong since we’ve come on board.

WHYY Screening “Beyond Beats & Rhymes”

    Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

The Independent Television Service (ITVS) was poised to have its client’s documentary, “Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes,” aired on PBS on the weekly Emmy award-winning series Independent Lens in February 2007.

To promote this, ITVS organized an advance-screening event to be held at WHYY, a TV station in downtown Philadelphia. The only problem – ITVS had little to no means of connecting with Philly’s hip-hop audience to get them out to the event. In getting us on board to conduct a full promotional and PR outreach campaign, ITVS had a sold out event which lead to amazing ratings for the documentary broadcast on PBS.

    PhillyCarShare’s Drive-In Movies Program

    Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

    carshare.jpg

PhillyCarShare planned a series of outdoor movie screenings all around Philadelphia from August through September 2007 for its Drive-In Movies program. They wanted to make sure everyone around the city knew about the events, so they asked us to handle all of the field marketing for the program to get the word out.

Our team took flyers and posters for the series and distributed them at retail and lifestyle store locations, as well as on-site at the event locations, to generate a buzz for the screenings. The Drive-In Movies series was a big hit with PhillyCarShare members, and the promotion also attracted dozens of newly signed-up members.

    Campus Philly Kick-Off

    Monday, September 3rd, 2007

    campusphilly.jpg

Every year Campus Philly produces a huge festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway in center city Philadelphia called the Kick-Off, which features national headlining musical performances, local acts, dance shows, and vendors for as far a the eye can see. Last year Campus Philly asked us to help with promotion for the Kick-Off, and we were more than happy to get involved.

We conducted web and field marketing for the event, focusing on spreading the word about The Paradocs’ performance. The turn-out was amazing, the event was great, and we’re currently working with Campus Philly on updating the event’s site as well as hosting an arts fair at this year’s Kick-Off.

    F.U.E.L.’s “Across The Sea” Exhibit

    Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

In March 2007, F.U.E.L. Collection had gotten so consumed with its elaborate illustration gallery exhibition, “Across the Sea,” that the organization and promotion for the opening reception event got pushed to the last minute.

Hoping to pull off the unthinkable, F.U.E.L. called us to see what could be done in just over a week. With exactly nine days notice, we coordinated live music performances with members from three reputable Philadelphia bands and executed an extensive field and web promotional campaign. The event was a huge success to say the least.

The gallery was packed through the entire night with a diverse mix of art enthusiasts, music lovers, and cultural hipsters, and everyone left having experienced a truly unique event.

    South Street Green Festival

    Saturday, September 1st, 2007

    green1.jpg

With less than a month before its South Street Green Festival event, Urban Green Partnership (UGP) decided it wanted to add a concert into the mix of festivities – on the rooftop parking lot of Whole Foods Market. With little time and an already thin staff, UGP contacted us to book and coordinate the talent line-up, manage all on-site concert logistics, make arrangements with a sound contractor, and offer promotional support for the festival.

We took on the project in spite of the difficult circumstances, and the concert and festival were large successes. We are currently working with UGP on their next Green Fest, slated for September 9th, 2007.
